Using Vikenda — the website, the API, the MCP tools, or our emails — means you accept these terms. They're short and we've tried to keep them readable.

What the service is

Vikenda is an independent guide to events and things to do, aggregated from venues, official calendars, ticketing platforms, and other public sources. It is free to browse, and no account is required.

Accuracy — our promise and its limits

Accuracy is what we care about most: every listing traces to a source and carries a "last verified" time, and we re-verify continually. Even so, events change — venues cancel, reschedule, sell out, or change details after we last checked. Listings are provided as-is, without warranty. Before travelling or buying tickets, confirm details with the venue or ticket seller. We are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date listings.

Third-party sites and tickets

Listings link out to venues and ticket sellers. Those sites are not ours: any purchase, refund, or dispute is between you and them, under their terms. A link is not an endorsement.

Using the API and MCP tools

The public API and MCP tools are offered free for reasonable use, including by AI assistants and agents. We may rate-limit, throttle, or block traffic that degrades the service for others, and we may change or discontinue endpoints. If you republish our data, attribute Vikenda and don't misrepresent freshness — don't present cached data as current.

Acceptable use

Don't abuse the service: no attempts to disrupt or overload it, no probing or circumventing security, no scraping at volumes the API can't serve you better, and no using the service to send spam or for anything unlawful.

Our content

Event facts (dates, times, places) belong to no one. Our editorial content — guides, descriptions, curation, and the compilation itself — is ours. You may quote it with attribution; you may not republish it wholesale as your own.

Listings may include images and text that originate from venues and organizers. If you believe something on this site infringes your rights — your artwork, your photo, your text — email [email protected] with the page link and we will review it and remove infringing material promptly.

Emails

Digest and alert emails are sent only with your express consent (double opt-in) and every message includes a working unsubscribe. See the privacy policy for what we store.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vikenda and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to CAD $50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including under Ontario consumer protection legislation.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms by posting the new version here with an updated date; continued use after that is acceptance. We may suspend or discontinue any part of the free service at any time.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and disputes belong to the courts of Ontario. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, that part is severed and the rest continues to apply.
